Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care.  It also covers airway management and related pharmacology.  In this course, skills are taught in large group sessions and small group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.  The ACLS Provider Course is designed to teach you the lifesaving skills required to be both a team member and a team leader in either an in-hospital or an out-of-hospital setting. ACLS faculty teaches this course at NWRTC and the instructors are highly qualified, bringing their career experience to the classroom. Students completing this course receive an AHA completion card valid for 2 years.

Pre-course requirements:  This course is for the advanced healthcare provider. A textbook is required for this course.  Textbooks are not provided but are available for purchase at NWRTC.  Because the ACLS Provider Course covers extensive material in a short time, you will need to prepare for the course beforehand by reading your student textbook entirely, cover the pre-course material and complete the pre-test prior to the class.  You will be asked to provide the instructor with the printed out results of your pre-test on the first day of class.  Having done the pre-test will help you be successful in ACLS. You should also know how to interpret ECG’s, know related pharmacology and the ACLS algorithms.  Once you have signed up for this course you will receive a Pre-course letter that will explain the course in greater detail.  Call if you have any questions.

Renewal of your BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card it is not included in the cost of your ACLS class. However, we do offer a Healthcare Provider CPR renewal option for anyone attending one of our ACLS classes for a discounted cost of an additional $40.00.  The time for the class will be added at the end of ACLS.  If you would like to register for this you can register by phone or come to the front office the day of your ACLS course.
